In keeping with the theme of Fit Life Fleming
Island, the bicycle ride we will be hosting is designed to be a
fun exercise and fitness opportunity for all ages and levels. The
FIRRide will be a safe, family oriented 5 and 10 mile ride on
residential streets in Fleming Island Plantation designed for kids
as well as adults, with a rest stop and refreshments at the picnic
area at the head of the Black Creek Trail!
The ride will be well marked, and warning signs will be placed on
the courses alerting vehicles to the existence of the ride. The
ride will be timed to take advantage of the activities of Fit
Life Village, which opens it doors at 4:00, and goes until 10:00!
The Family Ride will start at 3:30, and you'll be back in the Village,
after a rest and refueling stop, at approximately 4:30. For your
convenience, we'll have a bicycle storage area so that you can
leave your bike and enjoy the Village! Bring your bicycle lock,
stay and enjoy the food and entertainment!
After the ride, you'll find your friends & family at Fit
Life Village, enjoying the fun & games, food & beverage,
live entertainment, trophy presentations, race results for the
run, bouncy houses and slides for the kids, climbing walls, live
music from 4-5 bands, DJs & Emcee's, fitness and wellness
information booths, and much more. Fit Life
Village is open to the public with no cover charge, and gates will
open early and stay open late. Plan to finish your ride, leave
your bike at our bicycle storage area, meet friends and family,
and stay and enjoy the fun!
Rides & Descriptions
- STARTING POINT The ride will
start across from the Fleming Island High School.
- FAMILY RIDE The
perfect, relaxing ride around and within the beautiful
developments of Fleming Island Plantation. The ½ way point
of the 10 mile route will be the end of the Black Creek Bike
Trail, where refreshments will be provided to all riders - fuel
up for the trip home! Bathrooms available. The 5 mile route will
return to the starting point 2 ½ miles into the ride.
- ROUTE MARKINGS The routes will
be well marked, and signs will be strategically placed cautioning
vehicles the a ride is in progress. Maps are available above and
at the starting point.
- BIKE STORAGE After the ride, we
will have a secure area in which you can leave your bicycles -
stay, use the vouchers you receive in your gift Bags, and enjoy
the festivities! Plan to meet the rest of the family there!
